He completed his secondary and music education in Ivano-Frankivsk region, specializing in accordion. From 1980 to 1985, he studied mechanical engineering at Lviv Polytechnic Institute. Shevchenko has been writing songs since 1979 and has authored approximately 140 works. He participated in festivals such as "Dzvin" in Kyiv, "Chervona Ruta-91" in Zaporizhzhia, and the "World Festival of Youth and Students" in Moscow in 1985. His songs are performed by artists like Pikkardiyska Tertsiya, Nataliya Samsonova, and the group "Black Jack." His discography includes the 1996 album "Starenkyi Tramvai" and the 2004 album "Pravda," performed by Nataliya Samsonova. Shevchenko's work encompasses lyrical, philosophical, and social themes. He continues to contribute to the Ukrainian music scene as both a poet and composer.
