Stepan Higa, born on November 16, 1959, in the village of Bilky, Zakarpattia Oblast, is a renowned Ukrainian pop singer and composer. He began his musical journey in school, later graduating from the Uzhhorod Music College and the Kyiv Conservatory. During his studies, he became the lead singer of the popular synth group "Stozhary" and performed with the Kyiv Conservatory's opera studio. In 1988, he returned to Zakarpattia, becoming a soloist at the regional philharmonic and forming the jazz-rock band "Beskyd." After the band's dissolution in 1991, Higa established his own recording studio, "GIGARecords," and launched a successful solo career. His debut album, "Druzi Moi" (1995), was followed by hits like "Vulytsia Natali" and "Troiandy dlia tebe." In 1998, he was honored as a Merited Artist of Ukraine, and in 2002, he received the title of People's Artist of Ukraine. Higa's music resonates with millions, blending heartfelt lyrics with captivating melodies.
