For those who can see the things in true light
The tale was told about three brothers one night.
They cheated the Death and he told them to choose prize –
Anything they want the most in their life.

So the oldest brother, asked for a wand –
More powerful than any magic wand,
A wand that must win any duel for him,
Worthy of a wizard who had conquered Death.

The second brother, was an arrogant man,
Decided to humiliate still further Death.
He asked for the power to recall others from Death –
And the Resurrection Stone was given to him.

The third – youngest brother wasn’t thick enough
To believe that Death can be so unusually kind.
He asked for something that will help him survive
And Death, most unwillingly, gave his own Invisibility Cloak.

The first brother won a quarrel with the Elder Wand.
Then boasted loudly of the powerful wand.
The thief took the wand when, wine-sodden man sleep,
For good measure, his throat was slit.
And so Death took the first brother for his own.

Meanwhile, the second brother journeyed to his own home,
Where he lived quite alone.
He took out the stone that had the power to recall the dead
And turned it thrice in his hand.
To his amazement and delight, the figure of his girl-friend appeared at once
Yet she was sad and cold, separated from him as by a veil
Thought she had returned to the mortal world, she did not truly belong there and suffered
The second brother, driven mad with hopeless longing,
Killed himself so as truly join her.
And so Death took the second brother for his own.

But no meter how long Death searched for the third,
He was never able to find him.
It was only when man had attained a great age
He finally took of the Cloak and gave it to his son.
He greeted the Death as an old friend and went with him gladly.

The last enemy that shall be destroyed
Is death – you’ll see.
Living beyond death. Living after death.
It all means to me.
The thing what people afraid the most
Anyway will be.
If you believe in this and don’t afraid at least
With dignity you’ll face it.

P.S. I will go with you gladly.
